JUST ARRIVED – NEW LOOK ’19 SILVERADO AT VICKAR COMMUNITY CHEVROLET

The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 has pulled into Vickar Community Chevrolet and the early reviews for the all-new popular full-size pickup are all positive.
Vickar Community Chev truck expert Rodney Neufeld reports that the new model – which made its debut at the dealership at 964 Regent Avenue West in late September – is lighter (which makes for better fuel consumption) and roomier inside. Neufeld points out however that unlike some of the competition, the box is still made of high strength steel.
Neufeld notes that the new model offers a choice of six different powertrain combinations including new 5.3L and 6.2L V-8 engines as well as a new turbocharged diesel 3L inline-six.
Also brand new is General Motors’ Dynamic Fuel Management System which can cut fuel flow to between one and seven cylinders as conditions permit. The new technology reportedly can boost fuel economy by 5% compared with existing deactivation systems that shut off specific cylinders or entire cylinder banks during cruising or coasting.
The 6.2L V-8 and the turbo-diesel also feature stop/start technology and mate to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Neufeld further points out that you have eight trim levels to choose from with the ’19 Silverado. The base Work Truck trim features 17” steel wheels, vinyl or cloth seats, and black exterior trim and 7” touchscreen infotainment system.
The Custom trim adds body-color exterior trim, 20” aluminum wheels, and LED taillights. The Custom Trailboss – which NBeufeld is expecting to be top-selling model – raises the ante with a 2” lift as well as the Z71 Off Road package, which includes a locking rear differential, skid plates, a set of Rancho shocks, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in knobby Goodyear DuraTrac tires
The LT is the mid-level trim with additions being a Chevrolet bow-tie badge up front, LED headlights, and an 8” touchscreen system.
The LTZ and High Country trims are top of the line with standard luxury and convenience items such as leather seating surfaces and power-folding exterior mirrors - with special two-tone grille, chrome running boards, and a standard power tailgate for the latter. (Power tailgate is optional on the other trims and allows drivers to open and close the tailgate with either the key fob or a cabin-mounted button.)
“We also have some classic body-style ‘19s in stock,” Neufeld says.
